Q1: How do I know if I have not secured a course?

Approx. two weeks after the closure of the first revision of courses, KUCCPS publishes a list of KCSE index numbers of the students who didn't secure a course.  To confirm, you'll be required to log in to the Student’s Portal and submit a new application for your preferred courses.

Also, If you provided valid phone numbers during the application, an SMS will be sent to your contact asking you to revise your choices.

Q2: Who is eligible to apply during the revision of courses?

The application is open for:

  1. Students who had applied for placement through their schools and/or during the Revision of Choices and have not secured a place following the first round of processing of the applications.
  2. All 2022 KCSE candidates with a C + and above who did not make any application for degree courses;
  3. All candidates who scored between C plain and E from the year 2000 to 2022 and have not had the opportunity apply for TVET courses through KUCCPS.


Q3: Which courses are available for selection during the second revision of courses? 

The applicants will be required to select new choices from the degree, diploma and craft/artisan certificate courses with unfilled capacities, which are also listed on the website, and submit afresh.

Q4: When will I know the exact course I have been placed?

Applicants whose index numbers will not be listed on the website will have provisionally secured one of their choices, hence are not required to reapply. The outcome of their applications will be given after the conclusion of the placement processing. Results will be released by the end of July.

Q5: I missed the school application. Should i apply now?

Yes, the application is open to those who didn't have an opportunity to apply.

Q6: When should I apply?

Check on the students.kuccps.net portal to know if the application window is open. Also, Keep checking our website and social media pages for timely updates and career guidance.

Q7: How much should i pay to revise my course choices during the second revision?  

The Placement Processing Fee varies as follows:

Applicants who did the First & second Revision of Choices but failed to secure any of their choices are not required to pay the placement processing fee during the Second Revision. Instead, they should submit the MPesa transaction code they used during the First Revision.

Those who applied through their schools but missed the First Revision should pay the amount indicated in their accounts in the Student’s Portal.

Candidates who neither applied through their schools nor during the First Revision and are selecting courses for the first time will be required to pay a placement processing fee of Ksh1,500.

Note: They should not make any payment until they have logged in to the Student’s Portal and completed all the application steps. Please follow the payment instructions on the portal carefully.

Q7: How do i retrieve my lost M-PESA transaction code?

Simply dial *234# from your mobile phone to access the menu, Select 'My M-PESA Information', then 'M-PESA Statement' or Click on M-PESA Statement at the bottom of the M-PESA landing page on mySafaricom App.

Q8: How is it possible that I have not secured any of the courses I applied for yet I met all the minimum requirements?

For you to apply for a course, you must have all the minimum entry and subject requirements. Applicants compete with one another for limited vacancies in a programme. If the applicants are more than the available capacity, some are left out due to the competition.

Q9. I have provisionally secured one of the courses I applied for. When will I know the course and the university/college?

Applicants who have provisionally secured a course will be provided with the details of the programme and the institution during the official release of the placement results at the end of the entire process.

Q9. What happens if am unable to secure a course during the revision of courses?

Those who don't a secure a course will be asked to revise their course choices again - third revision of course choices.

Also, Any applicant who fails to qualify for their choices during the third revision of courses but meet the cut off points for placement may be offered any course with unfilled capacities taking into account the minimum requirements for admission.
