About Jomo Kenyatta University Of Science and Technology ( JKUAT )
JKUAT is a public university and offers courses in Technology, Engineering, Science, Architecture and Building sciences. The university has a strong research interest in the areas of biotechnology and engineering. It's ranked the most preferred University in Kenya for three years in a row
The institution was started in 1981 as a Middle Level College (Jomo Kenyatta College of Agriculture and Technology (JKCAT)) by the Government of Kenya with the generous assistance from the Japanese Government.
On 1st September 1988, H.E. Daniel Arap Moi, declared JKCAT a constituent College of Kenyatta University through a legal Notice, under the Kenyatta University Act (CAP 210C). The name of JKCAT officially changed to Jomo Kenyatta University College of Agriculture and Technology (JKUCAT). It was finally established as a University through the JKUAT Act, 1994 and inaugurated on 7th December 1994.
Notable Alumni
Notable alumni include Dr. Paul Chepkwony, the first Governor of Kericho County in Kenya and a former lecturer, Emma Miloyo, a prominent Kenyan architect and the first female President of the Architectural Association of Kenya, as well as Aden Duale, the current Leader of Majority in the 11th Kenyan Parliament among others.

The university is situated in Juja, 36 kilometers northeast of Nairobi, along the Nairobi-Thika SuperHighway, off Exit 15.

How to download your Kuccps Admissions Letter
- Go to https://admission.jkuat.ac.ke/checkadmssion and Confirm if your admissions letter is ready.
- Enter your KCSE index number, followed by /YYYY when you sat for your KCSE. e.g 12345678910/2015
- Click “Confirm Your Admissions Letter to Proceed”. If your admissions letter is ready, note down your student’s registration number. Otherwise, wait for a few days and try again.
- Visit https://admission.jkuat.ac.ke/
- Sign up and login on this page. To sign up, you’ll be required to enter your Surname, other names, email, phone number, index number/year and type of sponsorship. To sign in, use the email address you provided earlier as your username, and the kcse index/year as your password.
- Update your Personal Details.
- Download your Admission Letter and Other documents indicated on Admission Letter.
