Moi University is a public university located in Kesses, Eldoret town, Uasin Gishu county, in the former Rift Valley Province of Kenya. It was established in 1984 as the second public University in Kenya. Since then, the University has exponentially grown in terms of the number of Academic Programmes, Students, Staff population, and physical facilities.

To date, the student population stands at approximately 30,000 distributed in four campuses, namely: Main Campus, Town Campus, Eldoret West Campus and Odera Akang’o Campus. The Town campus hosts the College of Health Sciences (Medical Complex), School of Aerospace Sciences (Rivatex) and School of Law (Annex) while the Eldoret West Campus is home to our Privately Sponsored Students Programmes (PSSP). 

Moi University has two constituent colleges, namely Garissa and Rongo, and a total of three Satellite Campuses in Nairobi, Kitale and Coast (Mombasa).

The university has been ranked among the top universities in Africa and the world. Recently, the Webometrics ranking released in January 2022 placed the institution at Position 5 in Kenya , Position 72 in Africa, and 2503 in a total of over 30,000 universities ranked globally.
